Students participating with the IP Clinic are expected to put in at least 80 hours of work each semester (40 hours per credit – the Clinic is 2 credit hours). Those hours are typically spent receiving instruction from supervisors, working on client matters, counseling clients, providing public lectures and other related activities.
Once admitted, each student is placed on a team supervised by an attorney. This supervisor will instruct, review work, and mentor each student on the team. One of the goals of the Clinic is that this experience enable students to develop practical skills which can be directly transferred to legal practice following graduation.
